Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth. All the animals of the earth, all the birds of the sky, all the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the fish in the sea will look on you with fear and terror. I have placed them in your power. I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables. But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it.
Genesis 9: 1- 4
Over and Over again through out the Bible I am continually reminded of how much God provides for his children. From the begining of time with Adam and Eve, even now to Noah. And his "laws"/"rules" ect are for protection. Such as in verse
- 4 - "But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it." Sickness, Samonila. Its obviously to us today but im sure its obvious to all those in heaven some of the every day rules we don't believe today.
- 5- 7 - “And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person’s life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die. If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image. Now be fruitful and multiply, and repopulate the earth.” God is teaching Men that Mankind is precious.
I believe that when we take to heart that God is truly good and his laws and commandments are to protect us not to be mean, it changes obendence. We all need to trust the God that provides for us, discipline and life.
"When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.” Oh so many times has God reminded me of his faithfulness through rainbows.
Its interesting that in the Bible right after God gives him this sign, the writer then goes and adds a story about Noah's drunkenness. And i don't understand why Noah curses Canaan. Out of embarrassment or anger?
